Product Information
- 1H-indole-5-carboxaldehyde, 1-ethyl-
1-Ethyl-1H-indole-5-carbaldehyde is a molecule that is used in molecular modeling studies to investigate the interaction of calcium antagonists with the protein tubulin. It has been shown to bind to the colchicine binding site on the beta subunit of tubulin, inhibiting polymerization and leading to cell death. 1-Ethyl-1H-indole-5-carbaldehyde has also been shown to be cytotoxic against cancer cells in vitro, but it has not been tested in vivo. This molecule can be synthesized from formaldehyde and indole.
