Coumarin 314 is a coumarin derivative that emits light when irradiated with ultraviolet light. It has been shown to react with surfactant sodium dodecyl, forming a carbonyl group and a dipole. The optimum concentration of Coumarin 314 is 0.01% for fluorescence resonance and the reaction products are emission of light at 400 nm and an increase in the rate of electron transfer.
