Description

3,4-Ethylenedioxythiophene is a low energy compound that reacts with oxygen to produce hydrogen atoms. It has been shown to have synergic effects when used in conjunction with other compounds, such as 2-chloro-5-nitrobenzene. 3,4-Ethylenedioxythiophene can be used for the production of polymers by electropolymerization. It can also be used as a cross-linking agent and a chemical structure for the synthesis of polymers. 3,4-Ethylenedioxythiophene can also be used as an electrochemical data collector and an ionization reagent in mass spectrometry experiments, such as electrospray ionization quadrupole.
