Description:
Ethyl 3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenylpropionate (ETHP) is an antioxidant and stabilizer that is used in polymers such as polyethylene and polypropylene. It has been shown to have a long shelf life and good heat stability. ETHP is also used as a colorant and an antioxidant in paints, plastics, rubber, textiles, and pharmaceuticals. In addition to its use as a colorant and stabilizer, ETHP can be found in the synthesis of oxalyl chloride.
