Description:

Eledoisin is a substance that has been shown to have an effect on the glomerular filtration rate in a model system. It is also found to have anti-hypertensive activity and can be used as a treatment option for carcinoid syndrome. Eledoisin has been shown to act as potent antagonists of benzalkonium chloride, which are substances that are often used in soaps and detergents. The reaction solution with eledoisin causes cell lysis, which may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis. Eledoisin also has the ability to affect nucleotide levels, which are components of DNA and RNA. This drug has also been shown to have effects on fatty acid metabolism by inhibiting the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase.
