Epimedin A1 is a phenolic acid that has been isolated from the plant Pubescens. Epimedin A1 has shown to inhibit tumor cell growth and proliferation in vitro and in vivo. The structure of Epimedin A1 is closely related to epimedoside, which is an active ingredient in medicines for cancer treatment. Epimedin A1 also has the ability to inhibit the production of growth factor and stimulate fat cells to differentiate into mature adipocytes.
