Description:
Ethyl 5-(trifluoroacetyl)-2-furoate is a reagent for the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of nitrones and alkyl halides. It is an efficient oxidizing agent that can be used to form ketones from halides or ketones with cycloadduct formation. Ethyl 5-(trifluoroacetyl)-2-furoate undergoes a 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction with dipolarophiles such as isopropyl iodide to produce high yields of ketones. The reagent is reusable and can be used in many different reactions.
