Description

2-Ethoxy-6-fluorophenylboronic acid is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of organoboron compounds. It has been used as an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor in the treatment of diabetics. This drug is a competitive inhibitor of acetylcholine receptor, which blocks the binding of acetylcholine to the receptor protein and prevents its activation. 2-Ethoxy-6-fluorophenylboronic acid also inhibits chloride ion flow through the cell membrane, which leads to muscle paralysis by inhibiting muscle contractions. This drug also inhibits enzyme activity by interacting with other molecules in a synergistic manner, thus leading to more potent enzyme inhibition than with any single agent alone.
