Product Information

Name:
Ethyl 3-Amino-4,4,4-Trifluorobutyrate
Synonyms:
  • Ethyl 3-amino-4,4,4-trifluorobutyrate
  • Ethyl 3-Amino-4,4,4-Trifluorobutanoate
Description:

Ethyl 3-amino-4,4,4-trifluorobutyrate is an enantiopure trifluoromethyl compound that is used as a precursor in the synthesis of chiral compounds. It is an analogue of ethyl 3-amino-2,2,2-trifluoroacetate and methyl 3-amino-2,2,2-trifluoroacetate. The stereoselective synthesis of this compound can be achieved by enzymatic resolution or enantiomerically selective chemical reactions. Ethyl 3-amino-4, 4, 4-trifluorobutyrate has two possible configurations at the stereogenic center because it contains two chiral centers; therefore there are two possible optical isomers.
