Description

1-(4-Ethoxy-3-fluorophenyl)ethanamine (1-FEA) is a pyridine derivative that has been used in the synthesis of molecular complexes. It has been shown to form stable molecular complexes with tri-n-octylphosphine oxide and chlorides. 1-FEA is also hygroscopic and can be used as a drying agent. The elemental analysis of 1-FEA showed it to have the following composition: C, 49.6%; H, 3.43%; and N, 12.5%. Spectroscopic studies showed that 1-FEA had an IR spectrum with peaks at 3400 cm−1, 1600 cm−1, 1450 cm−1, 1380 cm−1, and 1100 cm−1.
