Product Information
Ethyl 2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5-octafluoropentanoate (EFOP) is an organofluorine compound that is soluble in organic solvents. It is a liquid at room temperature and has high adsorption properties. EFOP can be used as a catalyst for the addition of iodides and copper to alkenes and alkynes. EFOP also has functional groups that are catalytic for arylation reactions. These reactions are catalyzed by palladium or copper salts as well as transition metal complexes such as nickel carbonyl. The carboxylic acid derivatives produced by these reactions can be used to synthesize amino acids, peptides and other biologically active compounds. EFOP can also be used to synthesize carboxylic acid derivatives with substituents on the carboxyl group such as nitro groups or hydroxyl groups.
