Description:
1-Ethyl-6-Fluoro-4-Oxo-7-(3-Oxopiperazin-1-Yl)Quinoline-3-Carboxylic Acid is a new fluoroquinolone antibiotic with improved pharmacokinetic properties. The drug is well tolerated and has a low potential for inducing drug resistance in bacteria that are resistant to other fluoroquinolones. 1EFQC has been shown to have high oral bioavailability, which is likely due to its low degree of protein binding. 1EFQC exhibits a rapid plasma concentration and elimination, with high concentrations in tissues such as the kidney. This drug also shows a statistically significant increase in plasma concentrations when administered intramuscularly, orally or intravenously.
