Product Information
- 4-[(1R)-1-Carboxyethyl]tetraaza-1,2-dien-2-ium-1-ide
2-Amino-3-azidopropanoic acid (2R)-2-amino-3-azidopropanoic acid) is an amide that is used in the synthesis of cyclic peptides. It has been shown to inhibit growth of bacteria, such as Salmonella typhimurium, and cancer cells. The inhibition of protein synthesis by 2R)-2-amino-3-azidopropanoic acid has been demonstrated using a monoclonal antibody on protein synthesis. 2R)-2-amino-3-azidopropanoic acid also inhibits the production of histidine, which is necessary for bacterial cell wall biosynthesis. This compound can be used in diagnostic assays and as a reagent for the synthesis of cyclic peptides.
