Description:

3-Fluorophenyl isocyanate (3FPIC) is an antimicrobial agent. It is a solid-phase synthesis of the 3-fluorophenyl isocyanate and urea nitrogen. 3FPIC inhibits the growth of Listeria monocytogenes by inhibiting protein synthesis and cell division. 3FPIC has been shown to be more efficient than other antibiotics in treating tumors in mice, which are induced by 5-ht2c agonists or galectin-1. The antibacterial activity of 3FPIC was also demonstrated against Gram-positive bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecium, as well as Gram-negative bacteria, such as Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
