Description:
Fluorescein-5-thiosemicarbazide HCl is a fluorescent compound that has been used extensively as a dye in biological research. It is commonly used with other compounds to measure the transfer of resonance energy, the interaction between two molecules, or the solubility of one molecule in another. Fluorescein-5-thiosemicarbazide HCl can be used to measure cellulose because it reacts with hydroxyl groups on the surface of the material. The quantum yield for this compound is 0.06%.
