Product Information
4'-Fluoro-4-[4-(3-chlorophenyl)-4-(pyrrolidinylcarbonyl)piperidino]butyrophenone (FPP) is a synthetic compound that has been shown to inhibit the thermal expansion of collagen in vitro. FPP also exhibits clinical properties that are similar to those of the natural hormone erythropoietin (EPO). This drug has been used as a research tool for studying the role of EPO and its receptor in ryanodine receptor dysfunction, autoimmune diseases, and other disorders. The metabolic rate of FPP is 25% faster than that of EPO, which may be due to its ability to form complexes with picolinic acid. X-ray data on FPP shows the presence of two crystalline forms, one at room temperature and one at higher temperatures. The high-temperature form has an orthorhombic structure with space group Pna2 1 2 1 2
