4-[3-Fluoro-10,11-Dihydro-8-Isopropyldibenzo[b,f]Thiepin-10-Yl]Piperazine-1-Ethanol (FPP) is a long-acting inhibitor of dopamine uptake. It has been shown to be therapeutically effective in vivo against Parkinson's disease and other disorders of the central nervous system. FPP inhibits striatal dopamine uptake by binding to the dopamine transporter and blocks its function. FPP also has an inhibitory effect on serum prolactin levels, antibody response, and locomotor activity in rats.
