Product Information
2-Fluoro-3-oxobutanedioic acid 1,4-diethyl ester is a stereoisomer of the amino acid valine. It is an intermediate in the shikimate pathway that catalyzes the conversion of chorismate to l1210 and malic acid. The enzyme leukocytes convert 2-fluoro-3-oxobutanedioic acid 1,4-diethyl ester to 5-fluoroorotic acid and 2,5 dioxopentanoic acid. This conversion is important for the production of piperidine and epoxide which are necessary for the synthesis of nucleotides, proteins, and lipids.
