(3-{[(4-Fluorophenyl)sulfonyl](methyl)amino}-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-9H-carbazol-9-yl)acetic acid is a molecule that has been shown to synergistically interact with the CRTH2 receptor. It also has an inhibitory effect on prostaglandin H1. This drug has been shown to have low expression in proinflammatory cytokines and to inhibit the production of proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-6, TNFα and IL1β. Functional assays have shown that this drug can be used in the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as asthma. The maximal response of this drug is also dependent on the concentration of other molecules such as all-trans retinoic acid or myeloid derived suppressor cells.
