Description:

3-Fluorophenylmagnesium bromide is a chemical compound that has been shown to inhibit the uptake of dopamine by cells. It can be used as an experimental tool for studying efflux proteins in CCR5 receptor-expressing cells. The compound binds to ccr5 receptors, inhibiting the binding of HIV-1 envelope glycoproteins to these receptors. 3-Fluorophenylmagnesium bromide has also been shown to increase glucose uptake in epidermal growth factor (EGF)-dependent cells at low concentrations and to inhibit EGF-induced cell proliferation at high concentrations. 3-Fluorophenylmagnesium bromide is being studied as a potential drug for treating cancer and other diseases, such as Parkinson's disease.
