8-Fluoro-1,2,3,4-Tetrahydro-2,4-Methanoacridin-9-Amine (8FMA) is a molecule that inhibits the enzyme acetylcholinesterase. 8FMA has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the release of acetylcholine and growth factor synthesis. It also exhibits an antioxidant effect by inhibiting the formation of reactive oxygen species. 8FMA may be used as a potential therapy for Alzheimer's disease and other chronic neurodegenerative disorders. The effective dose for this drug is still unknown and further studies need to be conducted in order to determine the safety profile of this drug.
