Description

Flesinoxan is a 5-HT receptor agonist that has been shown to increase 5-HT concentrations in the brain. This drug also has an effect on locomotor activity and increases the sensitivity of 5-HT receptors in rats. Flesinoxan binds to the 5-HT1A receptor, which leads to cell lysis, diastolic pressure, and low potency. Flesinoxan has been shown to have pharmacological effects similar to other drugs such as fluvoxamine and citalopram (5-HT uptake inhibitors), buspirone (5-HT1A partial agonist), and sumatriptan (5-HT1D receptor agonist).
