Product Information
- Magnesium Bromide 4-Fluoro-3-Methylbenzenide
4-Fluoro-3-methylphenyl)magnesium bromide is a chemical that is used in the synthesis of piperidines and other substituted piperidines. It has been found to be a useful reagent for the preparation of disubstituted piperidines. This compound can be prepared by reacting 4-fluoro-3-methylbenzaldehyde with magnesium bromide in tetrahydrofuran at refluxing temperature. The compound reacts with the Grignard reagent to produce (4-fluoro-3-methylphenyl)magnesium bromide, which is then reacted with ammonia to yield 4-(4-fluorophenyl)-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine.
