1-Fluoro-4-(2-nitrovinyl)benzene (1F4NVB) is an enantioenriched alkynyl compound that can be used in the synthesis of β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds. 1F4NVB can be synthesized from methoxyamine and hydrosilylation, with a biocatalytic bipyridine. This compound is also useful for Friedel chemistry.
