9-Fluoro-3-Methyl-10-(4-Methyl-4-Oxido-1-Piperazinyl)-7-Oxo--N-[2-[(2,6,6,-Trimethylcyclohexyl)Amino]Ethyl]-9H Fluoropyridinium Chloride is a pharmacokinetic compound that is used as an antibacterial drug. It has been shown to inhibit the bacterial enzyme gyrase, which is required for DNA replication. 9FMOC exhibits stereoselective inhibition of gyrase and other enzymes. The pharmacokinetic properties of 9FMOC have been determined in human blood samples and urine samples. 9FMOC is metabolized to form an N-oxide in vivo, which may contribute to its antibacterial activity.
