Description:
The crystal structure of 6-fluoropyridin-2-yl)methanol is stabilized by the formation of an oxime bond, which has strong hydrogen bonding properties. This compound is a chiral isomer of pyridine and contains a fluorine atom in the 2 position. The C3-F5 bond angle is 116°, which differs from the 109° found in pyridine. 6-Fluoropyridin-2-yl)methanol has been used as a starting material for the synthesis of other compounds that are used as pharmaceuticals.
