Product Information
- 4-Fluorocinnamonitrile
- (2E)-3-(4-fluorophenyl)prop-2-enenitrile
(E)-3-(4-Fluorophenyl)prop-2-enenitrile is a nitrile that can be used as a ligand. It is often used in the synthesis of deuterium-labelled compounds. The cyanation reaction was first reported by Kostanecki in 1882 and has been widely used for the synthesis of organic molecules. The catalytic cyanation of l-proline with nitriles, such as (E)-3-(4-fluorophenyl)prop-2-enenitrile, produces β-unsaturated nitriles in high yields and with efficient use of reagents. This reaction is also applicable to other α,β unsaturated ketones or esters.
