3-Fluorobenzohydrazide is a reactive and potent inhibitor of the enzyme phosphodiesterase (PDE) that is used in pharmaceutical drugs. 3-Fluorobenzohydrazide has been shown to inhibit the activity of PDEs, which are involved in the regulation of cellular signaling and inflammatory responses. This agent also inhibits tumor growth and cervical cancer cells, as well as other cancers. 3-Fluorobenzohydrazide has been shown to scavenge free radicals and to induce T-cell activation. 3-Fluorobenzohydrazide binds to proteins by hydrogen bonding, which may be due to its structure activity relationship with PDE4D5 inhibitors such as rolipram.
