(3-fluoro-5-hydroxyphenyl)boronic Acid is a potent, selective and orally active adenosine A2A receptor antagonist. It has been shown to be an antagonist of the CNS stimulant haloperidol, and also inhibits the adenosine A2A receptor in rat brain tissue. (3-fluoro-5-hydroxyphenyl)boronic Acid has a higher potency than caffeine and is more selective for the A2A receptor than caffeine. The compound has excellent solubility in water and good metabolic stability, which may make it suitable for oral administration. The compound can be used as a potential therapeutic agent for Parkinson’s disease, catalepsy and other neuropsychiatric disorders.
