6-Fluoro-3,4-dihydro-2H-naphthalen-1-one is a piperazine derivative that displays serotoninergic activity. It is also an atypical antipsychotic agent, which displays both 5HT2C and D2 receptor antagonist properties. 6-Fluoro-3,4-dihydro-2H-naphthalen-1-one has been shown to be active in vitro against homologous recombinant human dopamine receptors. This drug has also been found to be efficacious in vivo against rat l -type calcium channels with IC50 values of approximately 2 μM. 6FDN inhibits the entry of Ca2+ ions into cells by blocking the voltage gated L type calcium channels.
