Product Information

Name:
7-fluoro-1h-indole-2-carboxylic Acid
Synonyms:
  • 1H-indole-2-carboxylic acid, 7-fluoro-
  • 7-Fluoro-1H-indole-2-carboxylicacid
  • Indole-2-carboxylic acid, 7-fluoro-
Description:

7-Fluoro-1H-indole-2-carboxylic acid (7FICA) is a potent allosteric modulator of dopamine D2 receptors. 7FICA binds to the orthosteric site of the D2 receptor and enhances its affinity for dopamine, which leads to an increase in the response of this receptor. The affinity of 7FICA for the D2 receptor can be increased by replacing a hydroxyl group at position 2 with a fluorine atom, which is what it has been modified to do. This modification also increases its sensitivity and interaction with other compounds that bind to the D2 receptor, such as glutamate.
