Product Information
- 2-Fluoro-5-nitrobenzeneboronic acid
- B-(2-fluoro-5-nitrophenyl)-Boronic acid
2-Fluoro-5-nitrophenylboronic acid is a borinic acid that is used as a reagent in the homogeneous assay of cellular apoptosis. It has been shown to inhibit cancer cells and induce cell death by binding to the bromodomain, which is an important component of the tumor suppressor protein p53. 2-Fluoro-5-nitrophenylboronic acid inhibits growth of mouse tumor cells by interfering with their ability to synthesize proteins. This compound has been shown to inhibit pancreatic cancer cells by binding to nitro groups on enzymes involved in energy metabolism. 2-Fluoro-5-nitrophenylboronic acid also binds to monosubstituted phenols, such as tyrosine, and exhibits binding constants that are greater than 20 picomolar.
