Description:

For-Phe-OH is a model compound used in the study of peptide binding to molecules. The molecule is unidentate, meaning that it binds to a single amino acid on a protein. It has been shown to bind to the substrate formyl group and is not active against water or organic solvents. For-Phe-OH has an optical sensor that can be used for detection of sodium salts by measuring changes in its fluorescence intensity. For-Phe-OH also binds to bortezomib, which is an inhibitor of proteasome activity and a chemotherapeutic agent. In addition, For-Phe-OH binds to chiral compounds such as trifluoroacetic acid with high affinity.
