Product Information
4-Formylphenyl 4-methylbenzoate is a benzylidene acetal that has been shown to have significant effects against the fungi Fusarium graminearum and Curvularia lunata. It also has significant activity against Curvularia curvularia, although it is not active against Curvularia oxysporum. This chemical has also been shown to have substitutions with thiolactone and oxysporum f. It inhibits growth of the fungi by inhibiting electron transport in the respiratory chain, preventing ATP production and inhibiting protein synthesis. The chemical is metabolized by oxidation of the methyl group at C4. This results in a loss of the fluopyram moiety and the formation of an unsaturated ketone group at C4.
