This compound has a high specificity and bioavailability and can be used to treat infections caused by Trachomatis and Chlamydia. 3-Fluoro-5-methylaniline has shown to have pharmacokinetic properties with good uptake and permeability in trachoma patients, which may be due to its ability to attenuate infectivity and increase cell permeability. It also shows activity against caco-2 cells at micromolar concentrations.
