Product Information
- 1H-indole-2,3-dione
- 1-[(2-fluorophenyl)methyl]-
1-(2-Fluorobenzyl)-1H-indole-2,3-dione (1) is a new antibacterial agent that has been shown to have affinity for the cell wall of Staphylococcus aureus. It also has anti-cancer activity and is capable of catalysis in an active site. 1-(2-Fluorobenzyl)-1H-indole-2,3-dione can be modified by thiosemicarbazide and 4-hydroxycoumarin to form derivatives with increased antibacterial activity against faecalis and methicillin resistant enterobacter. The analytical method used to measure the antimycobacterial activity of 1-(2-fluorobenzyl)-1H-indole-2,3-dione is hydrogen bond titration.
