Description:
(5-Formyl-2-methoxyphenyl)boronic acid is a non-peptide compound that is an intermediate in the synthesis of thrombopoietin. It has been shown to have a pharmacologic effect on human platelets, inhibiting their proliferation and inducing thrombocytopenia. (5-Formyl-2-methoxyphenyl)boronic acid mimics the effects of thrombopoietin by binding to the same receptors as this hormone.
