3-Formyl-4-methoxyphenylboronic acid is a biomolecule that can be used as an intermediate in the synthesis of organic compounds. It is a palladium complex that can be catalysed by naphthalene and salicylaldehyde to form cross-coupling products with nucleophilic attack. 3-Formyl-4-methoxyphenylboronic acid has broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity, which may be due to its ability to bind to DNA and inhibit protein synthesis. 3-Formyl-4-methoxyphenylboronic acid is also a linker for the synthesis of antimicrobial agents such as alkene, vitamin B1, and sulfoxides.
