Product Information
- 2-(furan-2-ylmethoxy)-1H-isoindole-1,3(2H)-dione
N-(2-Furylmethoxy)phthalimide is an electron microscopic agent that binds to uracil derivatives in nucleotides. It has been shown to form complexes with mercuric, tetroxide and osmium. This compound is used in electron microscopic studies of calf-thymus DNA and uracil derivatives. N-(2-Furylmethoxy)phthalimide is a derivative of phthalimide, which contains a furyl group. The complex formed by this agent and the mercury salt is denaturing, so it can be used for the study of nucleotide structures.
