Description:

2-Furancarbothioicacid is a natural product that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on carcinoma cells and leukemia cells, as well as on human nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells. 2-Furancarbothioicacid has also been shown to have a crystal structure similar to benzene and furan. This compound has been found in the plant diseases Mycosphaerella fijiensis, Mycosphaerella arachidicola, and Phyllosticta solitaria.
2-Furancarbothioicacid is also toxic to bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis.
