Description

Furathiocarb is a carbamate insecticide that is used to control pests. Furathiocarb is effective against a broad range of insects, including termites, cockroaches, beetles, and fleas. Furathiocarb has been shown to be an inhibitor of the ryanodine receptor and mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase. Furathiocarb also inhibits the growth of bacteria and fungi by inhibiting protein synthesis. Furathiocarb binds reversibly to heparin and other polysaccharides. Furathiocarb's molecular weight is about 300 Daltons, which makes it soluble in water. This product can be analyzed using gas chromatography with mass spectrometric detection or high-performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection. The molecule is unstable in alkaline solutions but stable in acidic solutions. Furathiocarb has been shown to cause allergic reactions in humans when inhaled or ingested.>>END>>
