Furan-2,5-diboronic acid, pinacol ester is a carboxylate that reacts with boron trihalides to form aryl boronic esters. Furan-2,5-diboronic acid, pinacol ester is used in the synthesis of organic compounds. Furan-2,5-diboronic acid, pinacol ester has been used as a catalyst for the metallation reaction and in the preparation of iridium catalysts. Furan-2,5-diboronic acid, pinacol ester can be used for the preparation of arene intermediates and metallation reactions. Furan-2,5-diboronic acid, pinacol ester has been shown to be an efficient reagent for synthesizing novel photochemical reaction intermediates.
