Product Information

Name:
1-(2-Fluoro-6-(trifluoromethyl)benzyl)urea
Synonyms:
  • Urea, N-[[2-fluoro-6-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]methyl]-
  • (2-Fluoro-6-trifluoromethyl-benzyl)-urea
Description:

Elagolix is a carbamate that is used in industrial production of di-tert-butyl dicarbonate. It is an organic compound with the chemical formula C6H9NO2. Elagolix can be prepared by treating urea with trifluoromethyl chloroformate and triethylamine. The reaction proceeds via two steps: first, the formation of the intermediate fluoroformamide and then its hydrolysis to form elagolix. Elagolix is an effective catalyst for the synthesis of dicarbonates from carbon dioxide and tert-butyl carbamate. This reaction can be carried out on a large scale, which makes it ideal for industrial production.
