Product Information
- Histidine, 2-Fluoro-
2-Fluorohistidine is a stable, non-toxic amino acid that can be used as a building block for peptide synthesis. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of murine sarcoma virus and corynebacterium glutamicum by competitive inhibition of protein synthesis. The 2-fluorohistidine molecule contains a disulfide bond that stabilizes the molecule and prevents it from changing into the corresponding tautomer, which would be an unstable, reactive form. 2-Fluorohistidine is not affected by acidic or basic conditions, so it will remain stable in most environments. 2-Fluorohistidine forms hydrogen bonds with other molecules in order to maintain its structure. These hydrogen bonds are important in stabilizing the molecule and preventing it from changing into its corresponding tautomer.
