Product Information
Florfenicol amine is a fluorinated derivative of florfenicol, an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. Florfenicol amine is extracted from the acetate extract of florfenicol by subcritical water extraction. It is then purified by LC-MS/MS method. The sample preparation and analytical methods are not specifically mentioned in the passage. Florfenicol amine has been shown to inhibit the enzymes that catalyze the synthesis of complex polysaccharides and cell wall components, which lead to decreased synthesis of bacterial proteins, thereby causing cell death. It also inhibits cytosolic Ca2+ release, which may be related to its anti-inflammatory effects.
Florfenicol amine has been shown to have activity against infectious diseases caused by bacteria such as Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium, Escherichia coli O157:H7, and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
