Description:
Favipiravir is a substance that has been used to prepare high-purity favipiravir (FPV) preparations. The preparation methods for FPV are described in the European Pharmacopoeia. When preparing FPV, impurities can be formed. One of these impurities is 6-pyrazine (6P). This impurity is usually removed by filtration or by distillation of FPV and its removal may be required according to the Directive on Medicinal Products for Human Use (2001/83/EC).
