Description

2-Furoylglycine is a pharmacological agent that is used to treat cancer. It is found in urine samples and can be detected using an analytical method. The matrix effect of the urine sample needs to be taken into account when performing the analysis, as well as any other substances that may interfere with the detection of 2-furoylglycine. This compound has shown toxicity studies in rats, but this information is limited. 2-Furoylglycine inhibits the activity of secretases and may be useful for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease.
