Fmoc-Arg(Pbf)-Wang resin is a solid phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) resin that contains all of the amino acid side chains required for the synthesis of peptides. It has been used in assays to measure plasma levels of nicotinic acetylcholine and blood pressure in rats. Fmoc-Arg(Pbf)-Wang resin also has functional groups at the termini that are susceptible to light exposure, which can lead to significant changes in the biological activity of the resin. The antibacterial activity of this resin is primarily due to its ability to target bacterial cell walls and fatty acid uptake. Chronic pain may be relieved with Fmoc-Arg(Pbf)-Wang resin because it targets tumor vasculature and tumor tissue. This resin also has biomolecular properties that allow it to be used as a target cell for anti-cancer drugs.
