Flecainide is a drug that belongs to the class of potassium channel blockers and is used in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. Flecainide has been shown to increase transcriptional regulation and gene expression, as well as alter the activity of other enzymes, such as glycosyltransferases. Flecainide also inhibits demethylation and chromatographic methods, which are necessary for the synthesis of oligosaccharides. This drug has been shown to have pharmacokinetic properties in humans that are similar to those observed in rat models. The primary cells that express flecainide include human liver cells, kidney cells, and heart muscle cells.
