Description:
4-Fluoro-3-[(trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl]benzenesulfonamide is an organic compound that is a sulfonamide. It has been shown to be anticancer drug and an inhibitor of the enzyme abt-263. The synthesis of 4-fluoro-3-[(trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl]benzenesulfonamide involves the reaction of benzoic acid with diazotization, followed by sulfonation with ammonium hydroxide and subsequent removal of the benzoic acid with ammonium hydroxide. The final product is obtained by reacting the intermediate with trifluoromethyl iodide in a nucleophilic substitution reaction.
